town of Schönberg / fire brigade

Ein Wohnhausbrand in Rottendorf
The voluntary fire brigade Schönberg was offcially founded on March 12th, 1925. Until today the fire brigade Schönberg has developed into a modern fire brigade, which takes fire fighting and technical assistance but also serves as a base fire brigade in the occupation area of the department Schönberger Land.

To fulfil these tasks, the fire brigade leaders pay attention to an up-to-date education of the fire fighters. The Stadt Schönberg represents the fire brigade and has brought the equipment on a high standard. Equipment and the fire engines are accomodated in a modern fire station.

The voluntary fire brigade Schönberg has one action leading car, one ladder engine and three other fire engines, which are used for transport of crew and equipment.

Apart from these tasks, the fire brigade also cultivates a comradeship and integrates in activities in the town. There is an old traditional fire engine, which is maintained by own sources. Because of active and effective youth work the fire brigade wins young people for fire fighters. The youth fire brigade Schönberg takes part in regional and nationwide competitions and could often proove, that the youth work in Schönberg in a young stadium already gives a lot of information and knowledge for an easier change in the active fire brigade.

Since january the fire brigade takes part in the programme "Fit for Fire" which is represented by the Feuerwehr-Unfall-Kasse Nord. For it the comrades meets on monday betwenn 18:30 and 20:00 in the Palmberghalle. They play Volleyball or Badminton and also train the muscles and physical endurance.
