In the middle of town, the big St-Laurentius-Church from the Middle Age raises, the location of the Schönberger Musiksommer. In a weekly rhythm and also over and above that concerts with differents music styles taken place during the summer. Supplementary there are exhibitions. With its cultural and scenic athmosphere the Schönberger Musiksommer presents both, artists and audiences and a great cultural programme with many opportunities of meetings.
The programme of the Schönberger Musiksommer moves between traditional church music and the borderarea of Jazz. Premieres and European plays for the first time dominate the programme as much as popular classic music. The Schönberger Musiksommer offers great chances for experiments and also young talented musicians have the chance of getting a look-in. An audience is invited, which hasn't been confrontated with that kind of music before. Because of the open climate artists and audiences, hosts and guests come together, an unique athmosphere arises.
